What it does Searches for user specified text in text files. While searching the specified files, TS displays any lines that may or may not (/V) contain the specified text. Remarks TS displays text lines using a word-wrap feature, wrapping depends on the column setting. If you are, for example, in SpartaDOS 3.2x and are using the XEP80 column display, TS will display text lines and word-wrap at 79 columns. You will never see a messy display of information using TS. TS also has a built in redirection command; you may redirect data to a file or a printer. When you redirect data to a file, the text lines will remain unformatted--text lines will not be word-wrapped. If you are redirecting information to a printer, text lines will be word-wrapped at 79 columns. To use the redirection output feature is easy, the second non-switch command will be treated as the redirection output; for example: ts /thelp tech.txt /i /n d2:report.txt How to use it SpartaDOS X users will have to use the X command to use TS. To find the text "the worst" in file magic.txt type: ts magic.txt /tthe<ctrl>+tworst /i /n Note: I have decided to use the <ctrl>+T character as the space character (this will only work in SpartaDOS 3.2x). To obtain a complete list of command-line switches, as well as in the event you may have acquired an updated version, type TS[return] at the command-line for syntax. |
